FAU High admissions selections are based on the competitiveness of Early and Regular Applicants, with acceptances offered to the most competitive candidates based on the following criteria:

Recommended Criteria for Admissions Consideration

Un-weighted GPA: 3.6 (minimum)

 

High School Math Courses

Algebra I successfully completed with A or B grade.

   

School Based Standardized Tests: (minimum)
FSA Reading Level 4
FSA Mathematics Level 4
Florida End of Course (EOC) Assessments Level 4

Students without Florida Assessment Scores should submit other school based standardized test scores (e.g. Stanford 10, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, TerraNova)

 

Next Generation AccuPlacer College Readiness Test:

Required Next Generation AccuPlacer Test (minimum for admissions consideration):

Reading 265 (out of 300)
Writing 265 (out of 300)
Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS) 265 (out of 300)
WritePlacer (may only be taken once) 4 (out of 8)

 

The Admissions team does not encourage multiple retakes of the AccuPlacer. We will accept two score reports.

 

Classic AccuPlacer College Readiness Test: (minimum)
Reading Comprehension 90 (out of 120)
Sentence Skills 90 (out of 120)
Elementary Algebra 90 (out of 120)
WritePlacer   4 (out of 8)

Attention!
A non-expired Photo ID is required of the test taker and must be presented prior to testing. You cannot take the test without proper identification. Acceptable forms include:
  • Current Driver's License
  • State Approved ID
  • Current Passport
  • Current Federal ID Card
  • Tribal ID Card

 

*If the applicant is selected, an interview will be required by the Admissions Team.
